It didn't mop, and its clean pad was a challenge to attach. It also was unable to take on dirt that had dried up.
Its app isn't equipped with advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It supports Alexa but its voice controls aren't precise or responsive. It's also a little erratic when it comes back to the charging station following an exercise. Other robots can follow an obstruction or follow the previous route however, the RX3 bumbles around until it quits.
We also had issues with the intelligent features of the device, such as its mapping feature and the digital stay-out zones. While it did a great job of avoiding our furniture legs and shoes but it could easily be caught by cables and socks and it was not able to manage the tassels on rugs. That's the reason we didn't choose to include it on our Best Buy list. However, with a reasonable price tag and impressive performance, the Scout RX3 is worth considering when you're looking for a smarter alternative to the traditional uprights.
