The price of $1,400 is a bit steep however, you will find it on sale frequently enough to make it more acceptable. The unit is beautiful and the base station takes up very little space in a corner of the room.

The design of this robot is a solution to some problems we've encountered with other robotic mops and vacuum cleaners, such as brushes that get tangled up in hair and the brush not being able to reach the bare flooring beneath furniture. The ability to sweep carpets and floors that are not covered is also impressive. The vacuum/mop has a high-quality debris collection and the mop will quickly saturate bare flooring.

The mops use a smart system that cleans along the edges of walls and around furniture. The robot can handle the largest obstacles like food bowls, toys, shoes, and backpacks with any problem. Miele Scout RX3

Miele is a name synonymous with quality and innovation in the world of  robot vac uuming. This new model is designed to take cleaning performance to a whole new level, thanks to its innovative features.

The RX3 features dual suction technology, intelligent navigation with 3D mapping and a camera that sends live images to your smartphone for effortless control. The powerful four-stage cleaning system ensures excellent dust removal on carpet and hard floors, while its easy-to-use swing-out side brushes and dual suction channels clean in corners. Its 8.5 cm height lets it get under low furniture. Front cameras and an infrared sensor assist in navigating barriers, thresholds and obstacles with ease.

The Scout RX3 impressed us in our test of how well it cleaned baking powder near baseboards and corners. Its suction was less powerful than other robots but it was quiet and swift in its movements. It didn't mop, and its clean pad was a challenge to attach. It also was unable to take on dirt that had dried up.

Its app isn't equipped with advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It supports Alexa but its voice controls aren't precise or responsive. It's also a little erratic when it comes back to the charging station following an exercise. Other robots can follow an obstruction or follow the previous route however, the RX3 bumbles around until it quits.

We also had issues with the intelligent features of the device, such as its mapping feature and the digital stay-out zones. While it did a great job of avoiding our furniture legs and shoes but it could easily be caught by cables and socks and it was not able to manage the tassels on rugs. That's the reason we didn't choose to include it on our Best Buy list. However, with a reasonable price tag and impressive performance, the Scout RX3 is worth considering when you're looking for a smarter alternative to the traditional uprights.
